I'm looking for a photograph...

In addition to the historic photos we have for sale on our website, the Adams has an archive containing over 12,000 historic photographs of Deadwood and the Black Hills. These images reflect the history of the area from the original mining camps to its present-day restoration.

We are happy to research and reproduce images for personal or commercial use.

The objective of offering digital print services at the Adams is to provide patrons with quality reproductions of our collection. Electronic scans of photographs and other materials in the museum will be reproduced consistent with the characteristics of the original photograph, negative, map, manuscript or printed material. We will not make any adjustments or manipulate the image in any way. When you are ordering scans, please indicate the resolution, scan file type, tonality and delivery method. Photographs in TIFF format will be sent via CD.

  • Scan Resolution – 72 - 600 DPI (Anything higher, please call 605-578-1094 for quote.)
  • Scan File Types – TIFF, JPG, PDF
  • Tonality – Bi-tonal, Grayscale, Color

Detailed pricing and ordering information, along with an order form may be found on our Commercial Use agreement or you may contact Communications Director, Rose Speirs or call her at 605-578-1928.
